Overview

Developmental Services Ontario Central West Region opened its doors on July 4, 2011 as the contact point for adult developmental services and supports in Central West Region. It is one of nine DSO agencies that were created by the Government of Ontario as part of the “Transformation of Developmental Services.”

DSO Central West Region does the following:

  • Provides information about developmental services and supports;
  • Confirms eligibility for adult developmental services;
  • Helps people apply for funded services and connects people with services and supports in their community;
  • Helps people get connected with community programs that can assist in meeting their goals and needs.

DSO Central West Region is administered by Sunbeam Centre, based in Kitchener, Ontario.

Who Can Contact Us:

Anyone can refer an adult with a developmental disability for services and supports, with consent from that person.

Consent is not required for general information inquiries.

When Can an Application to DSO Be Made?

Applications to DSO can be made at the age of 16. Referrals for supports/services are made at the age of 18.
